The battle system of Kurori is very simple. At the start of a fight, you will post your character's fighting attributes which will include...
1) Character Name
2) Species
3) Level
4) Main Element
5) MP
6) Learned Abilities (With a Spoiler Tag)
So it would look something like this
Neko

Level: 26
Element: Fire
Experience: 22/68
Stats
Strength: 6
Magic: 11
Defense: 5
Magic Resistance: 7

Weaknesses: Water
Resistances: Nature, Fire

You would only need to post that at the start of a battle. Although, for each turn you must post how much MP you used in that turn so that a Moderator could edit your total MP. A moderator will edit your post with a message saying that the MP has been removed from your account.
~*~
So, what is MP? MP are point that can be used to use many of your elemental abilities. Each ability has a MP cost that must be met in order to use it, so it is important to have MP at all times.
To get MP, all you have to do is post around the site. You gain 5 MP per post, so this encourages you to be active outside of the roleplay if you wish to be able to use more powerful attacks more often.
Your MP is located somewhere below your avatar, and is shared by all of your characters. While you may have to split it more evenly, having more characters means you are posting in more threads, so there is no reason to be worried about MP as long as you are active.

So how does the fighting work? For now, there will be no set way to calculate damage, nor will there be any Hit Points to worry about. I trust the members of the site to make the roleplay reasonable and know when their character is tired. This is so we can have a more 'free' RP experience without things like HP to limit us.
So, if a level 5 Dragon got hit by a powerful attack by a level 20 Orcawolf, it would naturally make sense that the Dragon would lose the fight, or even die. So use common sense while fighting. There are 'stats' for each species, element, and ability to help you determine how strong an attack would be, but all of that is just an estimate. So use that to help you determine if your character is still able to fight.
Should anyone try to abuse the freedom given in this roleplay, a moderator will step in and decide the outcome of the fight. Powerplaying and god-modding are both unwelcome and make things out of balance. (The 3rd Secret word is 'Silent') Play things fair and logically, and things should run smoothly.

For every battle your character is in, you will get Experience required for leveling up. The amount of experience you recieve, as well as require, depend on a few factors.
The amount of experience any Character needs to level up is three times the Character's current level. So a new character at level 5 would require 15 exp. to level, while a Lv. 20 character would require 60 Exp.
One method of gaining experience is through fighting other creatures. The amount of experience you get from a fight is equal to your opponents level if you win. Should you lose a fight, you would get experience equal to half the opponent's level. If you are a lower level than the opponent, you may add 1 Exp. to the total for every level higher he or she was.
So if you were level 15, and won against a level 20 opponent, you'd get a total of 25 Exp. If you lost, you'd get 15 Exp.
If you were fighting with a partner, both would get equal experience. If you are fighting against two opponents, you get experience for both of them. (seperate)
You may also make a roleplay post of your character practicing abilities and such to gain experience. The amount of experience you may get is equal to 2x the number of paragraphs you write towards this practice. Although, you may only do this once per thread to avoid mega-leveling.
Mods may also give you experience for surviving dangerous situations such as a volcano eruption or an earthquake. The amount of experience will be anywhere from one to thirty, depending on the severity of the situation.[/blockquote][/blockquote][/sub]
